will the free version of avast get rid of antivirus 2009?
a pop up window from antivirus 2009 came up on my computer, i tried to get rid of it but it started "scanning" i realised that it was a scam but i’m really worried that it has put a virus onto my new laptop (i have been saving up for one for ages). as you probably understand i don’t want my laptop to go wrong, but i dont have a credit card or anything to pay for anti-virus software (i’m only 16) does the free version of avast get rid of the antivirus 2009 scam, and if not how do i get rid of it? i’m really not great at computer stuff so an idiot’s guide would be really helpful.
thank you.

You probably stopped it in time but run a scan with Malwarebytes’ Anti Malware (free & excellent), info here:

No, You need to go to a computer store and purchase one, freeware will only give you more problems down the line. I highly suggest you reformat your computer now and start over, you have been hacked for your personal information, what you need is a anti-virus with identity blocker, virus blocker, spyware blocker, and firewall.
I would download the trial of windows one care from the windows live site, it is free for 90 days
